I cannot see the messages tab when I go to the Tools —options button. Look for a filepath that seems like where you might have saved the chat logs. I have version 7. Did that version even keep a history? In most cases those files are meant to be read in the instant messaging program itself, not directly. So the file has additional information not really meant for human eyes.
